The Young Queen Experience
#bigballer
My name is Kaliah Tionne Henderson, and I am 19 years old. I am currently a sophomore at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania majoring in business (Haub’s School of Business) with a minor in Creative Writing. Additionally, I am student athlete, and a member of the Women’s Basketball Team. As the youngest and only daughter of my parents, Reggie and Celeste Henderson, I have learned that hard work and sacrifice are required to be successful in any endeavor. I have two older brothers who have led by example, so that my road to adulthood could be much easier. Being a student-athlete takes sacrifice and absolute dedication. One of my favorite quotes by Colin Powell is, “a dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work”. I try my best to use this quote in everything that I do. My favorite hobbies are, writing, listening to music, and watching movies. I am perfectionist and workout 6 days a week.
One of my dreams and goals are to play in the WNBA. I understand that getting to the next level will be difficult, but I am willing to accept the challenge. My next dream and goal is to be an entrepreneur. I believe that investing in yourself does not just only benefit me but provides others around me with opportunities. Also, I would like to be able to give back to my community, which has given so much to me. Once my career is established, I would like to start my own foundation that provides scholarships and grants to advance the education of people that otherwise would not have the opportunity. My end goals is to give back to society through volunteerism, philanthropy, and to be an advocate through action for social change.
“Instead of letting your hardships and failures discourage or exhaust you, let them inspire you. Let them make you even hungrier to succeed.”
~Michelle Obama
